TORONTO, ON, November 13, 2007 - Viking Gold Exploration Inc. (the "Company" or "Viking") is pleased to announce that it has earned an undivided 60% interest in Viking Yellowknife Gold's property pursuant to an Option Agreement dated June 5, 2003 between the Company and Viking Yellowknife Gold Mines Ltd. ("Viking Yellowknife"). Viking Yellowknife is 78.8% owned by Lakota Resources Inc. of Toronto. The property, situated at Morris Lake, 72 km north of Yellowknife and 12 km south west of the former Discovery Gold Mine, is comprised of three leases covering an aggregate of about 330 hectares. Viking earned its 60% interest by making a series of staged cash and share payments as well as incurring $1.5 million in exploration expenditures over a four-year period.
The Company carried out a surface sampling program this past summer, cutting 32 surface rock channels yielding 471 samples to extend the data provided by previous diamond drill holes situated along the gold belt extending south from the Viking shaft. Two new humus grids were established from which 108 samples were collected in areas of quartz mineralized structural features located on the Viking Yellowknife leases. The Company also performed a regional lake sediment sampling survey yielding 154 samples at an average density of two samples per square kilometer. This survey covers the entire area on which a DIGHEM geophysical survey was performed in May 2006.
Individual surface samples were collected by diamond sawing narrow trenches averaging 1.2 meters in length. Analyses of the rock channel samples have been received and plotted on the accompanying map along with all previous gold assays of drill holes and channel samples.
The 2007 channel and diamond drilling results, which assayed 1 g/tonne or greater, are listed on the accompanying table. The alteration zone defined by the geochemical pathfinder elements encloses the Viking Gold Zone, and presents a graphic illustration of its continuity. It is 50-60 meters wide in the historic shaft area discovered in the 1940's, but is now determined to bulge to a width of 200 meters to the south, including an envelope enclosing a large pod of high grade but narrow veins. This correlates well with the previously reported drill intersections of 32.2 g/tonne over a core length of 3 metres in hole V-05-09 and 39.8 g/tonne in hole V-07-13. The enlarged alteration zone with strong pathfinder element values along with high gold values presents an excellent target for deeper drilling within the area drilled to date. Analyses for the humus and lake sediments are still outstanding and will be reported later when all results have been received and plotted.

* The samples may not constitute true thickness.
** Initial assays were ICP-MS, with all values above 500 ppb verified by fire assay,
ICP-ES finish. Internal standard samples and regular re-assay of higher value samples were utilized.
Based on the favourable results of the winter and summer programs the Company is planning a winter drill program to further test the more interesting geochemical and geophysical signatures identified to date.
Dr. Robert Ginn is the qualified person who prepared this report and is designing the follow up drill program for the 2008 winter season.
